When you decide to use CBD oil it is very important which product you choose and how you make the right choice.
You will find countless brands and types of products that promise you miraculous effects, without providing the necessary or correct information.
First of all, you should know that there are no miracle products, only products that help you and alleviate all the discomforts. Also, before consuming any supplement we recommend that you consult a doctor.
What is important in choosing CBD oil?
Product safety:
On April 19, 2020, the regulation regarding the mutual recognition of goods legally traded in another member state entered into force, which means that any hemp-based food product legally traded in another EU member state can enter the Romanian market. , “regardless of whether or not it corresponds to the requirements of the national legal framework, the operator being the one who, by completing the” Declaration of mutual recognition and providing information on the legality of marketing in another EU member state, assumes exclusive responsibility for the quality and safety of the product placed on the market” . (National Research-Development Institute for Food Bioresources – IFB).
With this information from IFB officials, we want to point out that all consumers should be careful if the company they buy from is from Romania and sells products with or without THC.
Given the fact that Romanian law prohibits CBD products from containing any form of THC, the buyer, at his own risk, risks the products being stopped at customs or arriving at the destination together with the DEA team.
That is why we recommend you to buy from local brands, from Romania, to be sure that you are purchasing products that comply with the legislation in force.
Product quality:
It must be checked that the company and everything related to it corresponds to the norms imposed by the law, and we recommend that you check the countries where the oils were produced (Germany, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Spain, America), countries famous for a high quality, Premium oil. To check the quality of the product, always read the laboratory tests.
It is good to know that in terms of establishing the category of products offered for sale, the manufacturer is the one who, knowing the legal framework for placing on the market (authorization/notification/mutual recognition) establishes not only the product formula, but also the presentation method of it (medicinal product/food supplement/food).
What is the first thing you need to pay attention to?
Look for a CBD oil that has been tested by a third-party lab. Third-party labs check the concentration and purity of the cannabidiol oil to ensure no toxic chemicals or harmful additives are included.
Check the oils’ label or packaging for testing information so you know if it’s safe to use. If you don’t see any testing or confirmation information on the package, the oil may have contaminants that can cause you adverse effects in the long term. If the oil has been tested, the results will usually be posted on the product or company website for you to read.
If THC is illegal in Romania, how do we explain the presence of Full-Spectrum oil?
Full-Spectrum oil is actually oil that contains CBD, THC, terpenes and flavonoids. Note that full-spectrum CBD extracted from a normal cannabis sativa plant would very likely have a THC content greater than 0.3%; in fact, some full-spectrum plants may have equal parts CBD and THC.
This means you need to be careful when selecting full-spectrum CBD to make sure you know if and how much THC is included.
In Romania the law says that THC must be equal to 0 (ZERO). Those who promote the sale of Full-Spectrum oil on the Romanian market are actually selling Broad-Spectrum oil, because the THC has been extracted. Even if the content is compensated by the induction of CBN and CBG, it can no longer be called a full spectrum.
In the future, if the law will tolerate the presence of THC in Romania, producers will bring products and mainly oils that may contain THC < 0.02, but currently the law prohibits this.
Over time, SNPMAPS has identified in the online environment several violations of the provisions of the national normative acts (especially illegal trade in food supplements placed on the market without notification and accompanied by misleading advertising), but also of the requirements of the mandatory European regulations regarding labeling, new foods and health claims allowed to be used on food products.
Many times, the trade name and the information provided by the manufacturer/distributor are insufficient or inaccurate regarding the composition of the product, in advertising and promotion using generic names such as “hemp or cannabis”, which are misleading and leave room for of interpretations.
Many platforms in Romania were suspended for selling products that did not comply with the provisions, for wrong or incomplete information.
If in general the way of administering the products is vaguely mentioned, we inform you that this phenomenon occurs because CBD oil has not been classified as a food supplement and food, so we cannot tell you how you can use these products. That’s why we try to give you all the necessary details through our blog and not in the product description.
So we recommend that you gather as much information as possible when deciding to buy/use hemp oil and keep the points highlighted above in mind. Last but not least, talk to your doctor, especially if you are using other medications.
