CBD - Did You Know That?

How to take CBD: The optimal dose depending on the condition

cbd-dosage-oil -products- guide

CBD is available in various products, including creams, capsules, oils and gummed jellies. These can vary in terms of ingredients as well as doses, and depending on the condition, the required dose is also recommended.

Cannabidiol (CBD) is the second most abundant cannabinoid found in the cannabis plant. Unlike tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), CBD has no psychoactive effects. Interest in the use of CBD for medicinal purposes has grown enormously in recent years.

CBD has a number of positive effects on physical and mental health. For this reason, it has become increasingly popular as a way to relieve many ailments, from anxiety to sleep disorders.

To determine if CBD is right for you, it’s important to consider its potential benefits, side effects, and available research on safe doses

Possible benefits

CBD is just one of hundreds of different compounds found in the cannabis plant. While cannabis has been used in holistic medicine for many years, researchers have recently begun to explore some of the medicinal purposes for CBD and other cannabinoids.

Although further research is needed, there is some evidence that CBD may have some beneficial effects on mental health. These include:

Relieving depression: Some research also indicates that CBD may be useful as a treatment for depression. Studies suggest that CBD may have an influence on how the brain responds to serotonin, a neurotransmitter that plays a key role in mood.

Improving sleep: Although the reasons are not fully understood and require further research, CBD also appears to have potential as a treatment for sleep problems. For example, one study found that people who took CBD also reported improvements in sleep quality.

Anxiety reduction: Anxiety is one of the most common types of mental health conditions, affecting almost 20% of adults each year.

Research suggests that CBD may help relieve the acute symptoms of several anxietyrelated conditions, including generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and social anxiety disorder.

In addition to the mental health benefits, CBD can also have therapeutic benefits for a number of other conditions. The World Health Organization suggests that CBD may have beneficial effects in the treatment of:

Alzheimer

Arthritis

Cardiovascular disease

Diabetes

Infection

Inflammation

Multiple sclerosis

Nausea

Pain

Psychosis

The ideal CBD dosage can be influenced by several factors:

  • Body weight
  • The chosen mode of administration
  • Metabolism
  • Severity of the condition
  • CBD oil concentration
  • The unique chemistry of the body

Some people may need a lower dose (10 mg), while others may need doses above 100 mg.

There is no single recommended dose of CBD, as it differs from case to case.

Even two people of the same weight can have different optimal doses.

For one, a dose of 30 mg would be ideal. And for the other, a low dose of 10mg will suffice.

CBD dosage, by weight:

  • Low dose → 2 mg CBD per 10 kg body weight
  • Average dose → 7 mg CBD per 10 kg
  • Strong dose → 14 mg CBD per 10 kg

Start with a small dose

Unless your doctor recommends a dose

specific, start taking 500mg to 1000mg daily. Do this

for a week to make sure it’s well tolerated and that you don’t

side effects or an allergic reaction.

If this dose does not have the desired effect, try increasing it by 500 steps

mg weekly until the desired amount is reached.

Is it possible to take too much?

What is the maximum amount of CBD you should take?

The researchers found that 600 mg a day seems safe, but one study found

suggested that doses of up to 1,500 mg per day are safe and well tolerated

What should I use CBD oil for?

An important question, because the answer will guide you to the required initial dose

CBD dosage, depending on conditions or needs:

Anxiety → medium or high dose

Arthritis → medium / high dose

Cancer → high dose or over

Colitis / Crohn’s disease → medium / high dose

Depression → medium or high dose

Chronic pain → medium / high dose

Epilepsy → high dose or over

Nausea → low / medium dose

Insomnia → medium / high dose

High blood pressure → medium / high dose

Sleep disorders → low / medium dose

Migraines → low / high dose

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) → low / medium dose

Irritable bowel syndrome → medium / high dose

Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) → medium / high dose

General health → low / medium dose

For weight loss → low / medium dose

Muscle recovery → low / medium dose

CBD dosage – depending on weight and needs:

Weight Low Dose Medium Strong
40 – 50 kg 10 mg 35 mg 70 mg
50 – 60 kg 12 mg 42 mg 84 mg
60 – 70 kg 14 mg 49 mg 98 mg
70 -80 kg 16 mg 56 mg 112 mg
80 – 90 kg 18 mg 63 mg 126 mg
90-100 kg 20 mg 70 mg 140 mg
110-110 kg 22 mg 77 mg 154 mg

The next calculation will define the required initial dose.

We take the body weight and multiply it with the desired dose (0.2 for low power, 0.7 or 1.4).

The result of the calculation will show us the required dose of CBD, in milligrams of CBD.

[Weight] x [Intensity] (0.2, 0.7 or 1.4 mg)] = Starting dose, in mg

When we talk about the ideal CBD dosage, less means more.

Because CBD has different effects, depending on the response of each person’s unique body.

But you need the advice of your family doctor if you have a more serious condition, are taking medication or for increased safety.

Always seek the advice of your family doctor before starting supplementation with any new natural substances.
